Locally Owned

Walden Gas is a Colorado Municipally Owned Utility, governed and administered by the Town of Walden.

Regional Service

Natural Gas Service is provided to the Town of Walden, unincorporated areas of Jackson County, and a stretch of communities along Wyoming State Highway 230, extending to Laramie, Wyoming.

Certified Operations

Operation and maintenance of all our pipeline infrastructure is provided through an operations agreement with Pinedale Natural Gas, Inc. of Pinedale, Wyoming.

This partnership ensures that Walden Gas customers benefit from regulated,  professional, utility-grade service while preserving local control and governance.

PNG provided services include:

  • Compliance with all regulatory safety requirements
  • Pipeline maintenance and inspection
  • Metering and pressure regulation
  • Gas quality management
  • Emergency response and leak detection

Regulatory Oversight

Because we serve both Colorado and Wyoming customers, Walden Gas is regulated differently by state:

  • In Colorado: Walden Gas is a Municipal Utility. It is not rate-regulated, but it is subject to pipeline safety regulation by the Colorado Public Utilities Commission (PUC).

  • In Wyoming: Walden Gas is a Certificated Public Utility, fully regulated by the Wyoming Public Service Commission (PSC), including oversight of both rates and pipeline safety.
